Breastfeeding Journey✨
8 whole months baby girl, WE did it. I’m so proud of us 🥹

Reaching the 8-month mark in my breastfeeding journey with my baby girl has been such an incredible, often surprising, adventure. When I first started, I wasn't sure what to expect, but hitting this milestone truly makes me swell with pride. As a breastfeeding mother, you pour so much of yourself into nurturing your little one, and recognizing how far we’ve come together is a powerful feeling. Every feeding session, every sleepy cuddle, every late-night latch has built this unbreakable bond. Many ask, 'how do mothers feel when breastfeeding?' Honestly, it's a mix of everything! There are days filled with immense joy and connection, feeling completely in tune with my baby. The convenience of having nourishment always ready, the quiet moments of peace, and the sheer wonder of watching her grow and thrive on my milk – these are the moments I cherish. But let's be real, there are also challenging days. The fatigue, the occasional discomfort, the feeling of being constantly "on call" can be overwhelming. Sometimes, I’ve felt a bit isolated or even judged for making this choice, especially as I venture into what some consider 'extended breastfeeding.' It's a journey that tests your resilience and teaches you so much about your own strength as a mom. At 8 months, my baby girl is a busy bee! She's exploring solids, crawling, and her feeding patterns have definitely changed compared to when she was a tiny newborn or even a 7-month-old. She’s much more efficient at the breast, and sometimes those feeds are quick little top-ups before she's off to play again. Yet, breastfeeding still provides that vital comfort, especially during teething, illness, or just when she needs to reconnect. It’s not just about the nutrition anymore; it's a source of security and love. For any mother breastfeeding an 8-month-old baby, you know exactly what I mean! This stage feels like a beautiful balance between their growing independence and their continued need for that special closeness. The idea of extended breastfeeding is something I've been reflecting on as we hit this milestone. For me, it's not a rigid plan, but more about following my baby's cues and what feels right for us both. There's so much information out there, and sometimes conflicting opinions, but ultimately, it's a personal decision for every breastfeeding mom. My goal is to continue providing her with the benefits of breast milk as long as it works for our family. It's amazing to see how adaptable both of us have become throughout this journey. To all the other breastfeeding mothers out there, whether you're just starting, hitting your stride, or nearing the end of your own unique journey, know that you're doing an amazing job. Embrace the highs, navigate the lows, and celebrate every single milestone. The bond you're building is truly priceless. Every drop, every moment, every sacrifice is worth it for that special connection with your little one.
