TV Show Review - A Good Girls Guide
There are some differences from the book and the show. I definitely liked the book version of the changes.
I also wish there were more episodes. With only 6 episodes it felt very fast pace. We didn’t get to see the characters develop. The last episode we get a lot of information that I wish was developed more.
I give it a 6/10. I really liked the book, but the show was okay.
Based on Holly Jackson's bestselling novel, 'A Good Girl's Guide to Murder' brings suspense and mystery to the screen. While the show features a gripping plot, many fans feel that the adaptation could have benefited from extending the season beyond just 6 episodes. Viewers were left wanting more character depth and story arcs that were developed in the book. The original story revolves around the investigation of a murder that occurred five years ago, making it a captivating watch for thrill-seekers and book lovers alike. The show dives into themes of friendship, trust, and the quest for truth, aimed at engaging millennials and Gen Z audiences. Highlights include the lead character, who navigates various challenges while unraveling dark secrets. Fans appreciate moments of nostalgia from the book, yet express disappointment over the rushed pacing and lack of character exploration. As the series continues to stream on Netflix, discussions amplify on platforms like Lemon8, where viewers can share thoughts on similar adaptations and other literary adaptations that deserve attention.

i liked the show but it just didn’t hit the same as the book
