♡ keratosis pilaris remedy ♡

i’ve struggled with keratosis pilaris (strawberry skin) since i was a little girl. my first memory of being insecure about it was in 3rd grade when i was too embarrassed to wear a dress to school. ever since then my mother and i were on the hunt to find anything to help my skin. doctors didn’t seem to be concerned about my skin and couldn’t help find anything to fix it. after years of research and trying every product out there (trust me, i’ve tried them ALL!), this is the best thing by far i have ever found. i hope it helps you too ♡

- CeraVe SA Body Wash for Rough and Bumpy Skin

• fragrance free

• contains exfoliates so it isn’t rough on your skin

• contains salicylic acid and ceramides

- Nivea Intense Healing Nourishing Moisturizer

• not sticky

• fragrance free but has a light pleasant scent to keep you smelling clean

• contains provitamin B5

My Routine:

- take a like warm shower and allow skin to hydrate in the water for a few minutes

- use an exfoliating mitt in circular motion to lightly remove any dead skin

- apply body wash to a wet wash cloth (avoid using loofahs. they can hold lots of bacteria) and lather and lightly scrub onto skin in circular motions and allow to sit on skin for a few minutes before rising off

- after showering pat skin dry with a towel

- apply lotion everywhere

☆ see results within a week! ☆

... Read moreKeratosis pilaris, often referred to as "chicken skin" or "strawberry skin," affects many individuals and can lead to feelings of insecurity about skin appearance. Treatments primarily focus on hydration and exfoliation. Products such as CeraVe SA Body Wash are known for their hydrating properties and contain salicylic acid to gently exfoliate the skin, helping to clear bumps effectively. In addition, using a quality moisturizer like Nivea Intense Healing Moisturizer can further enhance skin softness due to its nourishing formula enriched with provitamin B5. Together, these products can significantly improve skin texture. Regularly applying these products after a warm shower, along with consistent exfoliation techniques, can yield noticeable improvements within a week. It's crucial to combine these remedies with a well-rounded skincare routine. Avoid using loofahs to reduce bacteria and instead opt for exfoliating mitts when cleansing the skin. Staying consistent with skincare practices can ultimately lead to clearer and smoother skin. Share your own experiences or routines to help others struggling with similar skin concerns!

Exfoliating Strawberry Legs 🍓 🦵🏿
Strawberry legs (aka keratosis pilaris) is caused by build-up of keratin in the skin. This is a hard protein that is perfectly normal within the skin. But too much can block the hair follicles. Dry and humid weather can make it worse so here’s how we’re taking care of it as summer approaches!
