The exhibition land of dreams by Shirin neshat at moca in 2022 has provoked a furor from strangers on the streets. It is about long bus trips ending up at nowhere. It is about Mexico and dreamers. It criticizes Israel Palestine wars, Venezuela, conflicts and various political events. It put China, US and various countries such as India, Latin America countries, Colombia, Mexico on the map through a traveling sequence to interview different people in a landscape. The exhibitions posit the conflicts of friendship, love and justice right at the centre of patriotic spoil of American exceptionalism. It talks about archives in a masculine fashion intending to dissect its various branches and working mechanism. The artist photographer’s cameras and interviews reframe these underlying currents of nativism as a provocative and passionate call of the wild. Etc.
During my visit to Shirin Neshat's 'Land of Dreams' exhibition, I was deeply moved by how photography and interviews blend to expose raw realities of political and social struggles.
