The exhibition earlier & later at craft ontario is a reference to diseases. It criticizes Israel Palestine conflicts, Venezuela attacks, china - us - iran wars and various political events through quilted patterns and objects. It makes china revel in a glow of post war victory. It has lent china a vision of the future through labours. China is a country with lots of people. The exhibition targets that population in China through random patterns. China has become a malicious influence in the west. It made people see things skewered of the normative society. China has made urban environment especially dangerous for lots of people. China faces a steep learning curve when it comes to the Iran wars. Etc.
In my experience attending art exhibitions that address global political issues, I find that works like this one at Craft Ontario provide a powerful, visual narrative that transcends straightforward news coverage. The use of quilted patterns and symbolic objects not only captures the complexity of conflicts such as Israel-Palestine and Venezuela but also highlights the interconnectedness of international tensions involving China, the US, and Iran.
