Trauma Informed Yoga Poses for each Chakra Point💛

2025/1/20 Edited to

... Read moreYoga can be a powerful tool for trauma recovery when guided by awareness of the body's energy centers or chakras. Each chakra plays a unique role in storing emotional and physical trauma. In my experience, focusing on specific poses for each chakra helped me reconnect with my body gently and safely. For instance, the Root Chakra, which grounds us, benefits from poses like Yoga Squat (Malasana) that foster a sense of stability and security. The Sacral Chakra, linked with creativity and emotional expression, opens beautifully with Low Lunge (Anjaneyasana), allowing stored tensions and trauma to gently release. In addition, poses like Cat-Cow (Marjaryasana/Bitilasana) stimulate the Solar Plexus Chakra to strengthen personal power, while Child's Pose (Balasana) deeply soothes and supports healing in the Throat Chakra, encouraging open self-expression. From my personal journey, coupling these poses with mindfulness and deep breathing created a safe container to process stored trauma. It’s important to approach trauma-informed yoga with patience and self-compassion, respecting your body’s signals and limits. Incorporating these chakra-focused poses into your routine can facilitate emotional release and realignment, bringing a refreshed sense of balance and well-being. Whether you are new to trauma-informed yoga or deepening your practice, tuning into each chakra’s needs enriches your healing journey.
