Is marrying the first person you dated a bad idea?

Not for me, for sure! 🤗

... Read moreBased on my own experience and stories from friends, marrying your first love isn't as uncommon as people think. Many factors influence whether it works out: maturity, shared values, and communication all play big roles. Even if first relationships don't always last, they often teach valuable lessons about love and compatibility. It's important to consider the odds realistically. Studies show that while a smaller percentage marry their first boyfriend or girlfriend compared to later relationships, those who do often report deep emotional bonds that have stood the test of time. However, challenges can arise, especially as both partners grow and change. Some people hesitate to marry their first love because of fear of missed opportunities or doubts about compatibility. But in my view, what matters most is how well you understand and support each other today, rather than the order in which you met. If you have trust, respect, and shared goals, marrying your first love can be a beautiful journey. Also, keep in mind that every relationship is unique. What didn't work for one couple might thrive for another. Reflecting honestly on your relationship’s strengths and weaknesses helps make the best decision. Have open conversations with your partner about your future expectations and personal growth. Ultimately, marrying your first love isn't 'bad' or 'good' universally—it depends on your circumstances and what you value most in a lifelong partner. Love, after all, is about connection, commitment, and a willingness to grow together.

Too early to call him your forever. Don’t jump the gun with the labeling. Funny thing is women still pursue stereotypes. Honestly why do people still go for worthless stone?

Marrying your first love?
I sometimes wonder if it’s a mistake getting married to my first love. On paper it’s the dream: your first kiss, first time, first everything is shared with one guy who you’ll stay with the rest of your life. Your childhood sweetheart, your classmate, your one and only. But I’ve hardly seen

My first boyfriend became my last 💍
8 years of growing up together, choosing each other through every version of ourselves. People love to say young love never lasts, but honestly? It can, if both parties are willing to grow, communicate and commit again and again. Our love was never the kind that gives you butterflies in your stomac

First date with my fiancé
the love that didn’t start with a spark i didn’t think my fiancé would be the one. our first date was quiet and slightly awkward. no butterflies, no fireworks, nothing dramatic. he was simply kind and steady. and i wasn’t used to that. i’d spent years calling anxiety “passion” and chaos “c

Second Marriage Is Always Harder Than The First
Moving on isn’t always about healing. Sometimes, it’s about outlasting the ghosts the system refuses to forget. I used to think moving on was just about the relationship — Rebuilding trust. Holding space. Starting fresh. But I was naïve. Because in Singapore, moving on isn’t just emotional.

why i cried when we moved in
now that my husband and i have finally settled down, i understood why i broke down on the first night living in our own space. it has been a really tough journey as a singaporean citizen + foreigner couple that when it was time to move in together after 9 years together, everything felt so surreal.

first date after the breakup
i thought my first date after the breakup would heal me. it didn’t. he talked about himself the whole time, and i kept smiling out of habit. when i got home, i cried, not because of him, but because it all felt so unfamiliar. turns out, bad dates can still teach you good things. they remind
