*be sure to let store bought pie crust thaw on the counter before rolling it out

assembly

1. Preheat oven to 400°F

2. Roll out pie dough and place in greased 9 inch pie pan. Cut off excess and score edges with fork

3. Roll out second pie dough and carefully cut out your stripes & stars & set aside

4. Fold a piece of aluminum foil into a 90 degree angle and place in pie crust to help separate blueberries from cherries

5. Carefully spoon in the blueberry and cherry filling

6. Carefully arrange stars & stripes on top of filling

7. Whisk together one egg and a splash of water to make an egg wash & carefully brush over pie crust

8. Place pie on baking sheet & bake for 20 mins

9. Reduce heat to 375°F (at this point you may want to place a “pie crust shield” on the edges of crust to prevent it from browning too quickly)

10. Bake for an additional 30-40 mins at 375°F or until crust is golden brown
