Story Time: How it started VS How it’s going 🥰
The saying goes “first come love, then comes marriage, then comes the baby…” blah blah blah right we all know how things are SUPPOSE to go but life has no guide on when things are GOING to happen. I feel a walk down memory lane loading in 3…2…1 💭
2012: I met my husband on a dating app called “OKCupid” and let me just shout out my mom for putting me on! Lol her coworker met a guy and soon became engaged and my mom wanted that for me and created a profile on my behalf. Now of course I had to go and jazz it up cause it didn’t sound like me at all but once I did, the curiosity on this app peaked… and that’s when I found him. Talk, dark and handsome. Smart and God fearing I mean helloooo!!! Interesting enough, I shot my shot and homie left me on “read” for 72 hours! Long enough for me to completely disregard his existence (cause we not going to play in my face) until he reached back out. We chatted on the app to texting on the phone to all night calls to finally meeting up in person and the rest is our history. ❤️
2015: we have been dating for 3 years and although we didn’t plan it at the time, we expanded our family and welcomed our son to the world. Something that neither of us expected but turned out to be the big blessing and greatest accomplishment either of us has faced thus far. To this day, there’s no doubt about it that our son came at Gods perfect timing solidifying the love we have for one another. 💙
2017: he asked and I answered! At this point we have moved in together and started building our lives in shared space. Easier said than done, this was a big test for us. Going from being together but living separately to being together, living together, parenting together, sleeping together, eating together 😮💨 let’s just say it was an adjustment. A needed trial though because it showed us a lot about one another and honestly… if we can really stand the test of TIME.
2021: and did! We are husband and wife! Originally planned a 2020 wedding but covid clearly had other plans for us but we’re not mad at it! Gave us a whole extra year to really buckle down and save up for the wedding of our dreams! It was a beautiful Sunday afternoon wedding in October. We had our nuptials on Halloween 2021 and there was nothing spooky or scary about it. A tasteful all black masquerade ball with a room from of love… yeah, we did that! 🎉
2025: and here we are, married, raising our now 10 year old son, in hopes to becoming homeowners in the upcoming years… maybe expanding again 🫣 but that’s all in Gods hands as was everything else that happened. My advice to those in new relationships, urning for relationships or newly single, take some time to know exactly what it is that you want. You cannot love someone with full capacity without self love. Stand firm on your morals, beliefs and have faith that your person will find you. And when they do, don ’t rush life. Enjoy the moments so when you look back at your mess of a love story, you’re reminded how beautiful and unpredictable a mess can really be. 🤗
