Let’s talk about a hot debate, TRIGGER WARNING. Circumcisions.
I had spent hours the last few weeks researching what to expect for my sons’s circumcision appointment today. I know the procedure itself has other moms either for or against it. I honestly don’t have a stance on either side because well, I’m not equipped with those parts LOL.
At the end of the day I let the decision be made by my son’s father (my boyfriend) and he decided to go through with our son getting circumcised.
I’m glad that the procedure went easier then I was thinking it will be, honestly with all the stuff I read online I was scared and on the fence with it all. Moms sharing horror stories about getting their boy’s circumcised.
I’m going to share my experience and in the hopes that any other moms on the fence this might provide peace of mind if you choose to go this route (/: a disclaimer, there is nothing wrong if you do or don’t circumcised your sons)
🩵 the doctor swaddled my son from the stomach up with his own blanket which I brought (I also made sure that he was fed before the procedure ) and his legs were strapped down.
🩵the doctor injected a anesthetic into the base of my son’s boy parts (sorry not sure what language is allowed on lemon8) during this time I was allowed to give my son sugar water (for the entire procedure)
🩵 the doctor performed the procedure and it took about 5 or so minutes! My son did not cry nor was he bothered (he is 4 weeks old)
At the end of the day do your own research and ask your medical professional all the questions you have 🩵🩵🩵
