... Read moreJoining college clubs is an essential part of student life, offering opportunities for networking, skill-building, and socializing. Popular options include business fraternities like Delta Sigma Pi, which foster professional connections and provide a platform for volunteerism. Many students recommend clubs related to their majors, enhancing career prospects and developing relevant skills. Participating in interest-based clubs, such as gaming, chess, or gender equality alliances, allows students to meet peers with similar passions and make lasting friendships. For instance, the college women's tech club fosters collaboration among women passionate about tech through discussions and project-building workshops. Service-oriented clubs like Alpha Phi Omega combine community service with forming bonds, creating an enriching experience. Don't hesitate to explore and try multiple clubs during your first semester; this exploration can lead to personal growth and meaningful connections. Remember, being authentic is key—embrace who you are and join clubs that align with your values and interests. As you engage, share your experiences and support others in their journeys. By actively participating, you'll create a college experience that is fulfilling in more ways than one!

I’ve previously joined (and even became secretary and treasurer for) a GSA on campus but at my current uni I’m vice president of the autism spectrum club, and I’ve participated in (even if only in group chats) my uni’s furry club, cog sci club, gay newspaper, stoicism club, etc. I would join so many more clubs if I lived near campus instead of an hour away.
