BEST season for pregnancy?!

2024/8/9 Edited to

... Read moreThat's such a great question! When I was pregnant, I definitely found myself thinking about the time of year and how it was affecting my experience. It’s not just about when the baby arrives, but also how you feel throughout those nine months. For me, navigating those early pregnancy symptoms in the first weeks was a huge part of it. I remember constantly battling fatigue and morning sickness, and honestly, if it had been the peak of summer, I think I would have struggled even more! The thought of battling nausea in sweltering heat just sounds awful. A lot of those first weeks pregnancy symptoms chart indicators, like extreme tiredness or food aversions, can feel so much more intense when the weather isn't cooperating. I often wished I could just hibernate during that first month! Then there are the pregnancy body changes by month. Oh, the bump! When you reach milestones like 4 months pregnant baby size or even later, like 29 weeks pregnant, your body is really doing some amazing work. But it also means a growing belly, swollen feet, and sometimes just feeling generally bigger and warmer. If you’re like me and were hoping for pregnancy that doesn't show for a bit, winter clothes definitely offer more camouflage! But by the time I was in my third trimester, wearing layers in the height of winter felt like a lot of effort, and I longed for lighter clothing. On the flip side, I've heard some moms say they loved being pregnant in summer because they could wear flowy dresses and didn't have to worry about coats or heavy shoes. But then you have to contend with the heat and potential swelling. It's a trade-off! Thinking about how the weekly fetal development chart progresses, it's fascinating to consider how your environment affects your mood and energy. While the baby's development happens regardless of the season, your comfort certainly plays a role. Being able to take walks outdoors, get some fresh air, or just enjoy the sunshine can make a big difference, especially when you're feeling those aches and pains later on. I’ve had friends who swore by a spring due date because they loved being pregnant in the cooler temps of fall and winter for their first two trimesters, then having a fresh spring baby. Others preferred a fall baby, enjoying their early pregnancy in the pleasant spring and summer months, then cozying up during the colder months when their bump was biggest. Ultimately, there's no single "best" season, as everyone's experience is unique. But if I could choose, I think I'd lean towards having my first trimester in the fall or winter to mitigate those intense early symptoms, then enjoy the growing bump in spring before a summer baby! It's all about what feels right for you and what challenges you anticipate most. What season did you find yourself most comfortable in, or what would you choose if you could plan it perfectly? It’s truly a personal journey, and every season brings its own set of blessings and challenges for expectant moms.

I got pregnant in January and in February with my babies. Yes I’m massive all summer but I LOVE being on maternity leave during the fall. Fall is my favorite season so being home in a cozy house with my fall decor, baby snuggles, and cozy blankets is everything 🥹🍁🤎 This baby is due on Halloween! I just love my fall babies without even planning for it hahah
