What I took to feel like my best self in pregnancy

Let’s talk prenatal vitamins. I feel like each pregnancy & mama is so different in what their body needs to support a healthy pregnancy. I would consult with your midwife or OBGYN prior to incorporating any supplements into your daily routine. These were all approved by my health care team specifically for me. Throughout my pregnancies, I worked with a Nutriotionist to create a supplement regimen that was individualized to my needs & here’s what we came up with 👇🏼

🤰🏻Thorne prenatals- Based on my blood work, my nutritionist recommended these prenatals because it had methylfolate. Methylfolate is the broken down version of folic acid. It’s easier for some people to absorb in this form. Folate is essential for the development of a baby’s spine & nervous system.

🤰🏻 Vitamin D drops- These are great for immune support especially if you’re pregnant during the winter months or sick season. I worked in a school during my pregnancy so it was a priorty to reduce my risk of contracting viruses.

🤰🏻 Fish oil- These can reduce inflammation, support heart & brain health of the mama and support the development of a baby’s nervous system

🤰🏻NAC-replenishes glutathione which is an important antioxidant. It naturally helps with the detoxification process.

What helped you feel like your best self during pregnancy?

This is NOT intended to be medical advice. Consult with your dr!

... Read moreDuring pregnancy, it’s crucial to ensure that both the mother and baby receive adequate nutrition and support. Prenatal vitamins rich in methylfolate, like Thorne prenatals, are especially important since they facilitate better absorption and contribute to the vital development of the baby’s spine and nervous system. Vitamin D plays a pivotal role in boosting the immune system, particularly during the colder months, making it essential for pregnant women who may be exposed to more illnesses, such as those working in busy environments like schools. Additionally, fish oil provides omega-3 fatty acids that can enhance heart health and reduce inflammation, which is beneficial for both mother and child’s brain development. NAC, or N-acetylcysteine, is another supplement worth mentioning. It aids in replenishing glutathione, an essential antioxidant that supports detoxification and respiratory function. This holistic approach ensures a healthier pregnancy experience, fostering well-being for both the mother and her unborn child.
