From my personal experience, I've noticed that our emotional and spiritual states are closely connected to how we feel physically and mentally. The signs mentioned, such as feeling no effect when reading the Quran or hearing Hadith, or feeling lazy to do good deeds even when they are easily accessible, are often indicators of a troubled heart or spiritual disconnect. One day, I realized I felt numb when engaging in spiritual practices that used to inspire me deeply. It made me reflect on how neglecting the heart’s needs results in a lack of motivation and love not only towards spirituality but also in everyday life. It’s common to experience a heavy heart or to be preoccupied with material things like money, overshadowing our higher values and deeper happiness. Moreover, recognizing signs such as feeling indifferent about sinning or not feeling the weight of consequences is crucial. When these feelings emerge, it's a signal to pause and reassess our connection with our beliefs and ourselves. This can also be linked to the heart being 'covered' or burdened by worldly concerns, which is something spiritual traditions warn us about. To help heal and revive the heart, I found it valuable to re-engage in small, meaningful acts—like reading inspirational texts slowly and mindfully, asking for protection from negative influences, and practicing gratitude for the blessings I have. These actions, alongside seeking understanding and support from a community or trusted mentors, can restore the heart’s vitality. In summary, the signs discussed align closely with the idea that a hurting heart manifests in spiritual and emotional fatigue. Being attentive to these indicators invites us to take action for our well-being, remembering that the heart’s health affects every aspect of life. Personal reflection, sincere intention, and consistent practice can help us regain balance and purpose in our daily lives.
