Still holding space, still learning too

01. My capacity is not my worth

Just because I can carry it all, doesn’t mean I should.

I’m learning that depletion is not a badge of honor. It’s a boundary calling.

02. I don’t have to heal privately to be taken seriously

I used to think I had to process everything in silence. Now, I believe that embodied transparency is part of my integrity.

03. My intuition is loud when I stop managing perception

The moment I stop trying to sound “grounded,” the truth comes through — clear, wild, and fully mine.

04. Rest is not an afterthought

It’s not what I earn after serving others. It’s what I need to stay in alignment with my own soul.

05. I am allowed to evolve in public

Even as a therapist. Even as a guide. Even when I don’t have it all figured out.

Therapists are people too

And lately, I’m learning that holding space for others doesn’t mean I stop making space for my own becoming

... Read moreIn a world where therapists are expected to always have things figured out, it’s crucial to remember that personal growth is a journey, not a destination. This journey involves understanding our limits and the significance of rest. Balancing self-care with the act of helping others can lead to deeper connections and authenticity in both personal and professional realms. The concept of holding space is about being present for others while also nurturing our own well-being. As we share our experiences and vulnerabilities, we create a safe environment that allows for mutual growth. It's essential to acknowledge that healing doesn't have to be a solitary endeavor; expressing our struggles can inspire others to open up and find their path to healing. The lessons mentioned, such as the importance of rest and intuition, are echoed in many contemporary discussions on mental health. The stigma of therapists needing to be the infallible guides is gradually shifting toward a more relational and human-centered approach to therapy. Mental health professionals are increasingly recognizing that their own journeys and experiences can enrich their ability to support others. Engaging with these themes not only serves to enhance one’s practice but also fosters a deeper understanding of self and the complexities of human emotion. As we navigate the challenges of life's demands, it’s vital to hold space for both others and ourselves, allowing for growth, healing, and a newfound sense of purpose.
