Hot Take: Deep Dish Isn’t Chicagoans Everyday Meal
When people think of Chicago, the first thing that comes to mind is deep dish pizza.
I love a good deep dish. That buttery crust, the insane amount of cheese, the chunky tomato sauce on top… it’s basically a lasagna in pizza form.
But here’s the thing: most locals I know don’t eat it every week (or even every month). It’s more of a “special occasion, out with friends, show-the-tourists” type of food.
Honestly, if you live here, you’re probably grabbing a thin-crust tavern-style pizza on a random Tuesday night, not waiting 45 minutes for deep dish.
Any Chicagoans want to say something? What’s a food from your city or country that outsiders stereotype but locals rarely eat?
