Chosen before we knew!

✨A Light 💡in the Night🌙

Good evening family 🤎🙏🏽✨ I hope your evening has been PEACEFUL🌙 and BLESSED💫. I’ve been sitting with John 6:44 📖 and honestly… I’ve been WRESTLING💭. Jesus said, “No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him.” That means the only way we COME🛤️ to Jesus is if the Father CALLS📣 us. And here’s the part that makes me pause—does that mean not EVERYONE will be drawn? Does that mean some are destined to be LOST❓

My heart wrestles with that 🤔💔 because we also read scriptures that talk about God’s desire for all to be saved. It’s one of those MYSTERIES🔍 that we may not fully grasp until we’re on the other side of HEAVEN☁️. But for those of us who truly FOLLOW👣 Christ, it’s also a REASON🎉 to REJOICE🙌🏽—we were CHOSEN🗝️! God DREW us before we even KNEW🫢 we needed Him.

The world 🌎 will try to tell you that you “FOUND” God, like He was LOST🙄. But family, God was never lost—WE were. And He came and FOUND us🐑. This verse reminds me it wasn’t random—it was intentional💡.

We may not have all the ANSWERS📚, but we have His WORD🕊️, and we have FAITH✝️. Keep SEEKING🔍 Him, even in the questions.

📖 Scriptures to Meditate On🙏🏾: Romans 8:30, 2 Timothy 1:9

... Read moreThe concept of being chosen before knowing God centers on the biblical truth found in John 6:44: "No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him." This verse highlights the divine initiative in salvation, emphasizing that God’s calling precedes human decision. Many Christians wrestle with understanding how God’s sovereignty and human free will coexist, especially regarding who is called and saved. Father’s drawing is not about randomness or chance but deliberate and purposeful. The imagery of the lost sheep, whom Jesus sought and found, underscores that God’s love pursues individuals even before they recognize their need for Him. Romans 8:30 complements this by describing the process of salvation: those God foreknew, He also predestined, called, justified, and glorified. While the mystery of election may raise difficult questions, scripture also affirms God’s desire for all to come to repentance (2 Peter 3:9). Believers are encouraged to trust in God’s perfect wisdom while holding onto faith amid unanswered questions. Faith is a journey that involves seeking and trusting God’s word and presence even when the full picture is not clear. Encouraging meditation on related scriptures like Romans 8:30 and 2 Timothy 1:9 helps believers deepen their understanding of God’s calling and purpose for their lives. These verses reveal that God’s calling is gracious, holy, and not based on human works but on His purpose and grace given in Christ Jesus. The repeated question in the OCR text, "DID YOU HEAR THAT? DID HE CALL YOU TOO?" invites readers to reflect personally on their experience of God’s call. It reminds that God’s call is both individual and intimate, prompting a response of faith and commitment. In practical terms, this understanding motivates believers to live with joy and gratitude, knowing their faith is not accidental but divinely orchestrated. It also calls for compassion toward others, recognizing that God's drawing work extends widely, even beyond our understanding. Ultimately, this topic invites ongoing spiritual reflection and study, encouraging Christians to engage with scripture, community, and prayer as they grow in their relationship with Christ and trust in God’s sovereign plan.
