Planning a cruise on the Star of the Seas means one thing for me: planning all the amazing food I'm going to eat! I recently sailed and was absolutely blown away by the culinary variety and quality onboard. Seriously, if you're a food lover, you're in for a treat. From casual bites to elegant dinners, there's something for every craving and every budget. One of my biggest questions before cruising was always, 'What's actually included?' And let me tell you, the complimentary dining on Star of the Seas is fantastic. We often grabbed breakfast at the Pearl Cafe – their Oreo cheesecake cupcake was a delightful morning treat! For lunch, the Aquadome Market was a lifesaver, especially Feta with its fresh Mediterranean bowls. It was perfect for a lighter, healthier option between excursions. You can easily eat well without spending an extra dime. Now, for the specialty restaurants – are they worth the splurge? In my opinion, absolutely, for a special night or two! We tried Hooked Seafood, and the grilled filet mignon paired with a succulent lobster tail was a memorable experience. It felt like a truly elevated dining experience. Giovanni's Italian Kitchen is another must-try; their pepperoni pizza was authentic and delicious, and the Mama's Tiramisu was the perfect indulgent end to our meal. For something truly unique, the Lincoln Park Supper Club offered an artfully plated beetroot dish that was surprisingly delicious and a real conversation starter. These experiences really stood out! Beyond the main dining rooms and specialty spots, there are so many fun, casual options. Playmakers Sports Bar & Arcade was our go-to for a classic burger with crispy fries – perfect for a relaxed evening. And I can't forget Pier 7, where we devoured some incredible Korean Fried Chicken. It’s these diverse options that make the Star of the Seas dining experience so dynamic. A few tips from my trip: Make reservations early: Especially for specialty restaurants and even some complimentary ones like My Time Dining. They fill up fast! Don't be afraid to try new things: Some of my favorite dishes were ones I wouldn't usually order at home. Check daily programs: They often list daily specials or themed nights that you won't want to miss. Budgeting: Decide beforehand if you want a dining package. It can be a great value if you plan on eating at specialty restaurants frequently. Otherwise, picking one or two à la carte is perfectly fine, as the included options are already so good. Overall, the food journey on Star of the Seas was a highlight of our trip. Whether you're looking for a quick bite, a casual meal, or a gourmet experience, this ship truly delivers. I hope this helps you plan your delicious adventure!
