Carnivore based meals

I am doing carnivore for 45 days and so far here are my favorite meals! I love steak but I tend to get sick of foods very fast so I soon did my research and got inspired to create other meals. I got a little creative and here are some of my favorites I’ve made so far!!

The purpose of carnivore is to “eat like our ancestors did”. I am not strictly carnivore as in I still eat some fruits, homemade hot sauce, wasabi, a little bit of coconut aminos (when eating sushi), and drink coffee. People, like myself, choose the carnivore diet because you are not eating carbs or sugars which puts your body in a constant state of ketosis. Ketosis means that your body’s primarily burning fat as an energy source rather than carbs and sugar! I also do intermittent fasting to keep myself in a calorie deficit as I am also in ketosis. This is great for burning fat and gaining muscle!

As someone with a sweet tooth, it has been hard, but incorporating some in season fruits has been helping. I usually go out and pick some oranges from my tree or go to the store and get some berries. If I do not want fruit but still have a sweet tooth, I like to drink a few sips of heavy cream, kefir, or half and half!

So far, I have felt nothing but amazing! I never get that overly full feeling, I haven’t felt groggy, my energy levels have spiked, and I don’t get brain fog. I also take adhd medication and since I’ve been fasting, I started taking half my dose. As of a few days ago, I haven’t felt the need to take my medication at all which is great!

AFTER 45 DAYS UPDATE:

I had become a lot more lean. Overall, I lost 7 pounds of fat, and gained almost 5 pounds of muscle! I feel amazing, I’m closer to my goals, and my mind has completely changed!

Even though I love a good steak, getting creative was key to sticking with it and avoiding food fatigue. One of my absolute favorite discoveries has been expanding beyond the usual. For example, my 'surf & turf' creation with a juicy, cheesy meat patty alongside some vibrant red tuna and orange salmon sashimi was a game-changer. It felt like such a treat and kept things exciting. And for those quick, work-from-home lunches, a simple yet satisfying bowl of scrambled eggs and shrimp, often kicked up a notch with a dash of homemade hot sauce, became a staple. It's so easy to whip up and incredibly nourishing. But variety doesn't just stop at meat and fish. I even ventured into making CARNIVORE BREAD! Using egg whites and egg white powder, I managed to create a surprisingly delicious and sturdy bread that allowed for things like ham and cheese sandwiches. Imagine, a carnivore-friendly sandwich with sliced hard-boiled egg – it made me feel like I wasn't missing out at all. This kind of innovation is what truly makes the diet sustainable. For those looking for easy carnivore recipes that don't always involve a plain steak, think about embracing different cuts of beef, pork, and lamb. Ground beef can be incredibly versatile for patties, meatza bases, or even 'rice' bowls with a fried egg on top. Don't forget about organ meats if you're feeling adventurous – liver pate can be surprisingly delicious and nutrient-dense. And chicken thighs or wings, cooked simply, can add a different texture and flavor profile. If you're someone who needs more calories, perhaps for a taller stature or an active lifestyle, remember that fat is your friend on carnivore. Don't shy away from butter, tallow, or ghee when cooking. Adding extra cheese (if dairy is tolerated) or even a few sips of heavy cream can boost your caloric intake without adding carbs. For dinner, instead of just one steak eggs meal, consider a larger cut of steak with a side of delicious pan-fried eggs cooked in extra butter. Or try a beef and eggs scramble loaded with cheese for a hearty breakfast or dinner. And for my fellow sweet tooth sufferers, remember what I shared in the main article. A few berries in season can be a lifesaver. But beyond that, a small glass of heavy cream, kefir, or half and half can surprisingly hit that craving perfectly without derailing your progress. It's all about finding what works for you to keep things smooth and enjoyable. Sticking to carnivore doesn't mean boring meals! With a little creativity, you can enjoy incredibly satisfying and varied dishes that fuel your body and help you achieve amazing results, just like I did.
