Tape off the documents

Then, slowly and carefully, lift the tape. Just be cautious with this method on very thin or absorbent paper, as it can leave a slight oil stain. Always do a test patch first if you're unsure! For tougher jobs, a product like Goo Gone is also a lifesaver, but always check if it's safe for paper before applying. And for those times when the tape is relatively fresh or the residue is light, don't underestimate the power of a simple rubber eraser! Yes, the kind you use for pencils. Gently rub the eraser over the sticky area. The friction and the material of the eraser will often pick up the adhesive without damaging the paper underneath. It’s surprisingly effective for smaller, less aggressive tape marks. For really tricky situations, like removing old, brittle tape from a delicate document, I've heard of people using the freezing method. By placing the item in a freezer for a short period, the adhesive becomes brittle and sometimes easier to chip off. I haven't personally tried this extensively, but it's another trick up the sleeve for extreme cases. A critical tip I've learned through trial and error? Always, always, always go slow.
