Life After Diagnosis🧡✨ Vacay Edition
POV: MS tried to come on vacation with me… but it didn’t get the invite ✨🚢
Just got back from my Disney Cruise and I’m still sitting in so much gratitude. Traveling with MS isn’t always easy—there are moments of fatigue, unpredictability, and having to move differently than everyone else—but this trip reminded me that I am still allowed to experience joy, adventure, and freedom.
There were days I had to rest when my body said “slow down.” Moments where I had to be intentional about my energy. But instead of seeing that as limitation, I honored it. Because choosing to listen to my body is also a form of strength.
MS doesn’t take away my ability to live—it just changes how I do it.
I laughed, I explored, I created memories that I’ll carry with me forever. And most importantly, I proved to myself (again) that I can still show up for my life in a big, beautiful way.
To anyone watching this who feels like their diagnosis has put life on pause—this is your reminder: you can still go. You can still dream. You can still experience the world. It may look different, but different doesn’t mean less.
This is your sign to book the trip, take the moment, and not wait for “perfect” conditions to start living.
MS is a part of my story… but it will never be the author of it 💫 #vacation #multiplesclerosis #vacay #chronicillness #chronicillnesslife
Traveling with multiple sclerosis can be challenging, but it also offers unique opportunities for growth and resilience. During my own journeys, I've learned that preparation and mindful pacing are key. Planning ahead for rest periods, staying hydrated, and choosing accessible activities have allowed me to enjoy vacations without overwhelming fatigue or discomfort. One memorable trip involved a cruise, similar to the experience shared here. Despite MS-related fatigue, I embraced the slower rhythm of the days and took moments to simply soak in the scenery or connect with fellow travelers. These intentional pauses not only renewed my energy but also deepened my appreciation for the experience. Listening to your body is a vital strength; it allows you to redefine what adventure means personally. MS may change how you engage with the world, but it doesn't diminish the joy of exploring new places or making unforgettable memories. Large or small, every moment of adventure has meaning. For those hesitant to embark on travel due to MS, consider this: you don’t have to wait for the perfect condition or moment. Embrace the journey with flexibility and kindness toward yourself. Each trip can be a celebration of courage and life, proving that a diagnosis doesn’t have to put life on pause—it simply invites us to live differently and beautifully.
