DINNER IS SERVED
pepper steak over rice, with broccoli, yams and baked croissants ..
*Ingredients*
- 1.5 lbs flank steak or strip steak
- 2 large bell peppers (any color), sliced
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1 onion, sliced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp dried thyme
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 tbsp soy sauce (optional)
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce (optional)
*Instructions*
1. Season steak with paprika, thyme, salt, and pepper.
2. Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high. Sear steak for 3-4 minutes per side. Transfer to a plate.
3. Reduce heat to medium. Add onion and cook until softened (5 minutes).
4. Add garlic and cook for 1 minute.
5. Add peppers and cook until tender (5 minutes).
6. Add beef broth, soy sauce, and Worcestershire sauce (if using). Stir to combine.
7. Return steak to skillet, spooning pepper mixture over top.
8. Simmer for 10-15 minutes or until steak reaches desired doneness.
9. Serve steak smothered with peppers and sauce.
