It's not fair.
When we see someone else "get" something, a salary jump, a beautiful house, a new car, a family ready, the brain will always throw one word in front of us: unfair.
Yes, it's not fair, and this is the beginning of this chapter from his release theory: we should stop "other people's success" from getting in the way of our lives.
There are two big pictures to accept first.
1. Life is not fair. Someone always holds cards better than us. From family to health.
2. We can't organize other people's cards. Even if we stare until our eyes can't change their results.
What we can do is "stop playing other people's card games" and turn to our best cards instead. This is what "release him" means in the work and real life versions:
- Let him have a better starting spot.
- Let him slide before us.
- Let him have a nice house because his parents bought it.
Then bring us back to the cards on our hands: skills with time, energy, control, and the path we choose to walk.
Try these five steps to stop losing because of looking at other cards.
1) Set your life problems clearly. What game are you playing?
Is our game "Keep the first money," "Move the line," or "Stay healthier"? If our problem is not to run against him, don't time his watch.
2) Make a card account in hand
Advantage (Skills / Connections / Free Hours) and Restrictions (Debt / Limited Time / Background) Write it all out, then convert it to a 90-day plan. Choose only 1-2 cards to upgrade first, such as "Pang Up Present" or "Move Skills Appreciation."
3) Set a "Comparative Time Statement"
Allow yourself to advance the feed for another person's life for X minutes a day. Once you turn off the screen, you can do one small job that moves 1% of our target (e.g., adjust one line of resume / apply for one job / read 10 additional pages).
4) Measured from "our yesterday," not "his tomorrow."
Weekly Progress Update with Yourself: Have you tried / learned / asked, not just "Have you got as much as anyone else?"
5) Use a sincere Let Them spell
- Give your colleagues a promotion first...Let him go, and we'll find a place that appreciates skill.
- Let anyone eat and not fat...Release him, and we take care of the body on our terms.
- Let people have beautiful homes from their families...Let him go, and we focus on our own financial game.
"Stop looking at other people's cards...Start playing cards in our hands. "
Another very reminding sentence: "The longer we watch others, the more we lose sight of the goal of the game itself."
Finally, "let him" is not just giving up or keeping quiet, but accepting the conditions of the field and moving with our own controls, thoughts, decisions, and actions. Someone will always have better cards than us, but if we stop being obsessed with their cards, we will start to see our own small wins every day.
