WHY THE RIGHT IS ALWAYS WRONG

2/28 Edited to

... Read moreFrom my own observations and experience, the Dunning-Kruger effect profoundly influences political debates and public opinions, especially concerning scientific topics like climate change or pandemics. People who lack expertise often overestimate their knowledge after brief online searches or watching social media videos, leading to strong but misguided convictions. This psychological bias makes it difficult to correct misinformation because those affected truly believe in their inaccurate views and sometimes dismiss expert advice as uncertainty or conspiracy. I've seen firsthand how phrases like "I did my own research" are misleading since online research often involves unverified sources rather than peer-reviewed studies that experts rely on. Acknowledging the limits of our knowledge is tough but essential. Experts tend to be more cautious and continuously question their own conclusions because they understand the complexity and nuance behind the data. This humility in expertise is key to scientific progress but can be misinterpreted as doubt by those unfamiliar with scientific methods. In conversations about politics or science, I've learned it's more productive to encourage critical thinking and promote trustworthy sources rather than outright confrontation. Understanding the Dunning-Kruger effect helps explain why some strongly held opinions resist change and highlights the importance of education that fosters intellectual humility and epistemic curiosity. Ultimately, recognizing that overconfidence in one’s knowledge is a common human limitation can lead us to better communication and less polarization, especially in politically charged environments.

A light green grid note with a copper paperclip, set against an indoor scene with plants, asks, "Why does starting a journaling habit feel so impossible? Let's talk about what's really going on, and how to finally make it stick."
A light green grid note with a copper paperclip, against an indoor setting, describes the common journaling struggle: buying a notebook, writing once, then stopping, and feeling guilty after seeing social media.
Why Journaling Feels So Hard
You’re not “failing” at journaling because you lack discipline. You’re avoiding it because journaling is one of the few places where you can’t hide from yourself. And that’s… a lot. No aesthetic setup, no perfect morning routine, no $30 notebook changes that part. Because when the pen h
