We just finished moving to a newer and bigger place and one of my cats took refuge in our sink. Not that a lot of people will see this or care but I’ll be posting new art soon. More Helluva Boss, Mouthwashing and some original content. Stay tuned 🎶
... Read moreIt's been a whirlwind since we moved into our new place, and honestly, the biggest surprise has been how quickly my black cat, Blitzo, claimed the kitchen sink as his personal chill zone! I mean, who needs a fancy cat bed when you have a sparkling stainless steel basin, right? I walked into the kitchen the other day, and there he was, curled up perfectly, looking entirely too comfortable. It just goes to show how adaptable, and hilariously quirky, our feline friends can be.
I've been wondering why cats are so obsessed with sinks. Is it the cool, smooth surface that's perfect for a nap on a warm day? Or maybe the cozy, curved shape that makes them feel secure, almost like a little nest? For Blitzo, I think it’s a mix of both. He loves enclosed spaces, and this sink is like his new personal fort. It's funny because we've got beds and blankets all over, but the sink? That’s prime real estate in his opinion!
Moving can be super stressful for pets, and I've learned a few things trying to make Blitzo feel at home. We made sure to keep his favorite blankets and toys accessible right away, and tried to maintain his feeding schedule as much as possible to give him a sense of normalcy amongst the chaos. We also set up a quiet, safe room for him initially, with his litter box, food, and water, so he could explore the rest of the house at his own pace. Gradually introducing him to different areas helped a lot. Giving him lots of extra cuddles and playtime also seemed to ease his anxiety, making him feel secure in his new environment. And clearly, finding unique spots like the sink helped him settle in, too!
It's not just sinks, though; cats have a knack for finding the most unexpected napping spots – laundry baskets, cardboard boxes, even a sunny spot on a bookshelf. Blitzo isn’t the only one with funny habits. I’ve heard so many stories about cats and their strange preferences, from sleeping on top of refrigerators to demanding sips from the faucet. Every cat has their own little quirks that make them so endlessly entertaining.
All these moving adventures have definitely inspired me, and once we're fully settled, I'm excited to get back to my art projects. Expect more Helluva Boss, Mouthwashing, and some fresh original content coming your way soon. Stay tuned for more updates on Blitzo's antics and my creative journey in our new home!
