Read moreAs someone who's been passionate about running and has experienced plateaus despite increasing my running volume, I can relate to the frustration of not seeing speed improvements from just piling up miles. What really transformed my running was focusing on the quality of movement rather than just quantity. Improving foot speed and running form made a huge difference for me. I started incorporating drills that enhanced my stride mechanics, like high knees and quick feet exercises. These drills helped me reduce wasted energy in each step, making my runs feel smoother and faster. Additionally, strength training became a game-changer. Incorporating plyometrics and targeted strength workouts improved my power and endurance. Exercises like squats, lunges, and box jumps built muscle that supported better running posture and stride efficiency. Recovery shouldn't be overlooked either. I learned to balance hard running days with proper rest and mobility work, which helped me avoid injuries and stay consistent with training. Using apps to track my progress and find personalized running plans also kept me motivated and on track for improvement. Altogether, moving smarter, training the full athlete, and focusing on mechanics helped me run not just longer but faster and with less effort. It's empowering to see those changes, and anyone can benefit from that approach—run smarter, move better, and watch your speed improve.
