When I first started teaching, I only used PowerPoint. Now I have loads of old materials I want to make cute in Canva. The great news is that it is SO easy.
You can also download Canva presentations as PowerPoints! This comes in handy when you need to share with someone who prefers Microsoft or doesn’t have Canva.

I remember when I first started creating presentations, PowerPoint was the only tool I knew. It felt like the industry standard, especially for formal reports or detailed data visualizations. You can build truly custom animations and transitions, and it works flawlessly offline, which is a huge plus when I'm presenting in locations with unreliable internet. It's also great for creating a 'fully editable version' that I can share with colleagues who need to tweak specific text or data points. On the other hand, Canva has revolutionized how I approach visual design, especially when I need something quick, visually stunning, and highly engaging. It’s incredibly intuitive, even for someone who isn't a professional designer. The sheer volume of templates, stock photos, fonts, and graphic elements means I can whip up a 'cute' and professional-looking slide deck in a fraction of the time it would take in PowerPoint. It's cloud-based, making collaboration a breeze, and perfect for creating social media graphics, infographics, or those 'Canvafied' presentations that grab attention immediately. I've found it makes getting those 'PowerPoints cute fast' a reality. So, instead of seeing them as rivals, I now view them as complementary tools in my creative arsenal. My approach often involves starting in Canva for that initial visual flair and template inspiration, especially when I want to 'make them beautiful' quickly. Then, if I need to integrate it into a larger, more complex presentation or share it with someone who prefers the traditional PowerPoint format, I simply export it as a Microsoft PowerPoint document. This way, I get the best of both worlds: Canva’s design prowess and PowerPoint’s deep-editing capabilities. It’s truly a game-changer for anyone looking to elevate their presentation game!
