Part time Job & Full time College student

I am really struggling with balance here.

I work a part time job(20hrs/week) while also going to school(16 credit hours).

I am thinking about dropping my work hours to 16 because it's only week 3 of school and I feel like I am drowning.

I am in awe of people who dont have to work while going to college.

Im also just scared to tell my manger i want to drop my hours. I dont think it would be detrimental but I just feel bad.

I dont like that I care so much.

... Read moreBalancing the responsibilities of being a full-time college student while working part-time can be challenging. Many students face similar struggles, with the pressure of maintaining academic performance while securing financial stability through part-time work. To better manage your time, consider creating a structured schedule that prioritizes both your academic and work commitments. Tools like planners or digital calendars can help you visualize and allocate your time effectively. It's essential to communicate openly with your employer about your situation; many managers appreciate employees who can articulate their needs. Don't hesitate to explore campus resources that offer time management workshops or academic support services. Joining student organizations can also foster a sense of community, providing you with peer support that can be invaluable. If you're feeling overwhelmed, remember that it's perfectly okay to reduce your work hours temporarily. Your academic success is crucial, and many students have successfully navigated similar paths. Look to online forums and communities to share experiences and gain insights from others in similar situations. Ultimately, finding equilibrium between work and college life is about understanding your limits and prioritizing your well-being. Adjusting work hours might be just what you need to thrive both academically and personally. Seek balance, and you'll find ways to achieve success in both arenas.

i’m under the same dilemma but my work’s minimum for part timers is 20hrs so i just let my manager know i’m quitting 😭 though, to me my education is the most important, as much as i’d like to not work while pursuing an education, it doesn’t seem possible to me i hope everything worked out for you tho!!
