Energetic metric formula
The Metsutra, also known as the Karnatamt Sutra, is an important sutra in the Nutthapatha and Sutnibat categories. This sutra is regarded as the heart of benevolence and is the prayerful monk that Buddhists around the world have been praying for over two thousand and five hundred years.
The story of the sutra is set in Buddhist times, when a group of monks received a correction from the Buddha and went out to pray in the forest, in the quiet foothills of the mountains, dense with large trees suitable for civilization, and the monks embroidered and began to pray with perseverance.
But these great trees are the home of angels and their attendants. When they see monks coming to rest under their trees, they become dissatisfied because they cannot come down to their habitat normally, and they show signs to frighten the monks, sometimes making strange noises, sometimes making scary pictures, sometimes smelling or causing the monks to have nightmares.
The monks began to be terrified, unrested, unable to meditate, and returned to the gods and told them all.
The Buddha did not cause monks to flee to new places, did not give them power to drive out angels, but taught them to prosper mercy.
He said,
"O monks, return to your place, and pray to this sutra and have mercy on all animals."
The sutra itself is the metric formula.
When the monks returned to their sincere prayers and mercy, the angels, who had been dissatisfied, gradually changed their minds and revered their love, guarding them until they could achieve a lot of righteousness.
This is the source of the belief that Metsutra is a pratra for suppressing terror, preventing harm from the undead, and creating calm for the hymns.
The sutra begins that
> Matthakusalena
Yantang, Santhang, Patang, Abhissalam will
It means
"He who is wise in usefulness, and desires to reach calm Nirvana, shall do this."
The Buddha began by teaching that compassion does not start with loving others, but first by training himself to be good.
Then said,
> Sakko Ushu will Suhushu will
"Be capable, honest and upright."
For a man full of deceit cannot have true mercy.
Later, he spoke of the qualities of the merciful.
Be gentle, not proud, easy to raise, reclusive, calm organic, not lost in family and fortune.
Then it enters the heart of the sutra.
> Sukino Wah Mino Noon Tun
Sapphe Satta Bhavantu Sukitatta
Be happy, safe and happy, all animals.
Just this sentence itself constitutes the heart of the whole metric formula.
Not limited to the people we love
Not limited to good people
Not limited to the same people as us
But it means all animals.
He further expanded that
Whether it's a big or small animal,
Short or long
Visible or invisible
Near or far away.
Born or about to be born
All should always be merciful.
This is to break down the walls of man-made division.
Then he said,
> Yes, Taro Nigupta
"Individuals should not deceive each other."
And
> Phyarosana, the contract.
"Don't think of each other in anger."
Because compassion is not just to wish others happiness.
But each thought must squeeze out of the heart as well
Then he quoted one of the most beautiful parables in the Triangle:
> Mata Yatthayang Puttang
Ayusha Ekaputta Manu loves him.
"As a mother shall keep her only child in life."
This is the standard of mercy in Buddhism.
Not nepotism.
But pure goodwill.
Like a mother who is ready to sacrifice her life for her.
And he said,
> Evampi Sapapabhutesu
Manasam Bhawaye Aparimanang
Likewise, a person has an infinite mercy on all animals.
The word "infinite" means no boundaries.
No racial limits.
No limits to religion
No race limit.
Not even limited to enemies.
True mercy is therefore a vast force than ordinary love.
He also taught mercy.
Above
Below.
And around all directions
Without duty, without enemies.
No vendetta.
Until the mind becomes like the sun shining in all directions without choosing the recipient
At the end, the sutra says
Whoever is gracious, pure in the precepts, approving, does not cling to your emotions.
He will never come back to swim in the womb.
It means mercy is not just a life protector.
But a way to break free.
The power of metaphrase, as it says, is to calm the mind, suppress fear, be loved by man and the undead, sleep well, wake up, have no nightmares, be determined easily, and prosper in the temple.
But above all, the greatest power is not to prevent ghosts or external dangers, if it expels the "ghost of the heart" - anger, malice, malice, and hatred from the mind, when mercy is full in the heart, even the fear of the place is calm, even the enemy may become friendly, and even the suffering that beset it will gradually loosen up like precipitating turquoise, for which reason the Buddha praises mercy as the great righteousness, the abode of the Lord, and the force that can change the outside and the inside world simultaneously.
เมื่อได้ศึกษาพระเมตตสูตรแล้ว ผมมีประสบการณ์ตรงที่อยากแบ่งปันเกี่ยวกับการเจริญเมตตาภาวนาในชีวิตประจำวัน การสวดเมตตสูตรและแผ่เมตตาอย่างจริงใจนั้น ไม่ได้เป็นเพียงการท่องจำคำสวดหรือทำไปตามพิธีกรรมเท่านั้น แต่เป็นการฝึกฝนจิตใจให้เปลี่ยนแปลงอย่างลึกซึ้ง จากความโกรธ ความอาฆาต และความเกลียดชัง กลายเป็นเมตตาที่กว้างไกล มีพลังที่สามารถเปลี่ยนแปลงความรู้สึกและความคิดในใจ ผมได้ทดลองนำคำสอนนี้มาใช้ในช่วงเวลาที่เกิดความขัดแย้งหรือความเครียดในครอบครัวและที่ทำงาน การแผ่เมตตาโดยนึกถึงความสุขของผู้อื่นรวมถึงศัตรูและคนที่เคยทำร้ายเรา ทำให้ความรู้สึกฝังใจที่เคยหนักแน่นค่อย ๆ คลายตัวลงอย่างไม่น่าเชื่อ นอกจากนี้ ความเข้าใจคำว่า “มารดาพึงรักษาบุตรคนเดียวของตนด้วยชีวิต” ในเมตตสูตร เป็นบรรทัดฐานที่ชี้นำให้เรารักษาเมตตาอย่างหมดจดและไม่เลือกปฏิบัติ ผมจึงพยายามปลูกฝังให้เมตตานี้แผ่ไพศาลไปยังทุกคน ไม่ว่าจะเป็นคนใกล้ชิดหรือคนแปลกหน้า ในทางปฏิบัติ ผมแนะนำให้เริ่มต้นเจริญเมตตาด้วยการสงบจิตและสวดบทที่สอนให้นึกถึงความสุขความปลอดภัยแก่สรรพสัตว์ทุกชนิด เช่นเดียวกับต้นฉบับพระสูตร ที่ย้ำถึงการไม่มีความแค้นหรือศัตรูในใจ เมื่อลองฝึกทุกวัน จิตจะเริ่มละเอียดและเปิดกว้างขึ้น ทำให้เกิดสมาธิที่มั่นคงและอารมณ์ที่อ่อนโยนต่อโลกใบนี้ สุดท้าย ผมเห็นด้วยอย่างยิ่งกับการที่พระพุทธองค์ทรงยกเมตตาเป็นธรรมอันยิ่งใหญ่ เพราะเมตตาไม่ใช่แค่สื่อรักบุคคลอื่น แต่เป็นการเปลี่ยนแปลงภายในใจเราเอง ซึ่งนำไปสู่ความสงบสุขอย่างแท้จริงและการหลุดพ้นในที่สุด
