But this taught me an important lesson: kindness requires wisdom and resilience to protect yourself. You don't have to tolerate disrespect or let mistreatment slide just because you want to be kind. Instead, kindness combined with firmness shows others that you value yourself and demand respect. It conveys that while kindness leads my actions, it doesn't diminish my strength. When pushed too far, I stand firm and refuse to let anyone undermine my worth or presence.
