... Read moreIf you have diabetes, informing your nail salon or technician before your appointment is essential for your health and safety. Diabetes can cause nerve damage (neuropathy) and poor blood circulation, which means even small cuts or wounds on your feet or hands can take longer to heal and be highly susceptible to infections. Nail salons are aware that diabetic clients need extra precautions, so they may avoid certain procedures like aggressive cuticle trimming or using equipment that could cause breaks in the skin. Additionally, diabetic individuals are at a higher risk of developing fungal infections or complications from minor injuries due to their compromised immune systems. Nail technicians trained in safely caring for diabetic clients might use different sterilization techniques or tools specifically designed to minimize the risk of infection. They may also monitor for signs of low blood sugar (hypoglycemia) during your visit, which can cause symptoms like dizziness, sweating, or weakness. To ensure safe and enjoyable nail care, diabetics should choose salons with experienced staff who understand these risks and can tailor their services accordingly. Always communicate your health conditions openly, ask about the salon’s hygiene protocols, and never hesitate to reschedule if you are feeling unwell or notice any foot or hand problems. Proper nail hygiene and gentle care can help maintain your nail health while preventing complications related to diabetes.

Why are most nail salons owned by Vietnamese?

Best way I found to have nails done at home
I came from a culture where women have their nails done at nail salons weekly, which is not sustainable and affordable in the US, even more being a mom without much support. Before, I used to have gel extensions nails done by an amazing manicure, but she moved away, and now I don’t have anyone

YOUR SIGN TO GO TO A NAIL TECH!
This is actually so much easier than going to a salon and getting varied results from people at nail salons. It’s so much more personalized and has saved me money! This is if you’re too lazy to learn how to do your own nails (like me)

Top 3 Reasons to say GOODBYE to the nail salon
I made the switch to these press-ons 3 years ago and I'll never go back! 1) Cost: I now pay $14-$18 for my nails instead of the $100+ I paid at the salon 2) Non-damaging: these nails use a patented non toxic glue that holds strong for 14+ days but doesn't damage my natural nails 3)

Beginner nail tips from a semi retired nail tech 💅
1. Quality over Quantity ✅️ I get wanting to improve speed. However, if you're fresh out of school, speed will come with time. My "good" sets used to take about 3-4 hours for basic french, even longer for designs! Slow down, REALLY pay attention to each step you do, and take your time!
