how to prevent burnout this exam szn 😓📑

stress is in the air right now because of the crazy amount of assignments building up. i have no idea how im going to get anywhere near 6 hours of sleep in the next few weeks 😕 the one thing i have to be careful of tho is burnout, because it’s so easy to get without even realizing it due to the stress ☹️ here are some tips to help you prevent it or at least keep it at bay for a little longer:

🌟focusing on just one task or goal for hours or even days on end leads to the stress that causes burnout. try and catch yourself when everything in life starts to revolve around a task or goal. take a step back and try and direct yourself to something different before it starts spiraling beyond your capabilities

🌟i am a big supporter of the belief that no accomplishment is too small to be rewarded. our phones already give us so much dopamine from scrolling, might as well also encourage that feeling for work accomplished. get a coffee after a hard study session, buy something you've been wanting after an exam, bake a cake, or just give yourself something to look forward to so that you don't fall into a pit of hopelessness in the middle of a stressful period.

🌟even though it isn't always possible with the way assignments are given or exams are scheduled, try your best to get ahead of the curve and plan out your bigger tasks, making them less daunting and therefore less overwhelming. planning in advance will also help when you are in the midst of assignments and work being thrown at you and are lowkey panicking because it's a lot harder to make sense of a situation when you are already knee deep in it.

One of the most important steps is to break down tasks into manageable chunks. When assignments pile up, it can be tempting to focus solely on one task. However, this often leads to feelings of being overwhelmed. Consider creating a plan or a schedule that includes breaks, allowing your mind to recharge. Engaging in physical activity, even a quick walk, can also provide a mental reset. Rewarding small achievements can boost motivation and foster a positive mindset. Simple rewards, like treating yourself to a favorite snack after completing a study session, can make a significant difference in maintaining enthusiasm. Additionally, mindfulness practices, such as deep breathing or meditation, can help center your focus and reduce anxiety. Apps and online resources can guide you through these techniques. Remember, it's important to stay connected with friends and family during stressful times; sharing your feelings and experiences can provide comfort and support. Ultimately, by implementing these strategies and maintaining balance, you can navigate exam season without succumbing to burnout.
