Women’s Health Week 2026
✨ Women’s Health Week 5/10/2026–5/16/2026 ✨
People reduce ‘underserved’ to race when they hear my name, but it’s bigger than that. This week, I’m naming another underserved group I belong to — women.
Peer reviewed research shows women remain an underserved population because healthcare systems shaped by industrialization, gender bias, and policies that once treated women like chattel continue to produce misdiagnosis, delayed care, and inequitable access. These harms are imparted through a “rational” policy argot that hides discrimination, leaving women—especially Black and Brown women—impacted by systems that behave more like a trafficker of power than a provider of care. This is why we must prioritize Women’s Health with urgency and truth.
Mother’s Day may have launched Women’s Health Week, but while the world celebrated mothers, I was more interested in ensuring that women made it a self-care day. Thank you ladies for showing me that you listened and took time to celebrate you! For the remainder of the week I will be celebrating us as a collective.
