life with ADHD

Today all I wanted to do was get coffee, pickup our grocery order, clean out the car, and get in a walk. I don’t work today or anything so you’d think that’d be an easy to do list.

Addie and I took a shower, got ready, I washed bottles and packed the diaper bag. Everything was good, so we left for our groceries! I immediately realize upon getting out to the car that I left my keys in the house. No big deal I’ll run in and get them right? NO! They’re lost. Okay so now I have to get Addie out of the car so she can wait in the house for me to find my keys. Took me 20 minutes to find my keys (they were in the stroller from a walk we went on yesterday)

So we finally get in the car and I start contemplating whether or not I should get coffee because what if it doesn’t fit into my calorie deficit for the day. I woke up this morning and weigh .9lb more than yesterday morning so what if it’s the coffee that’s causing that? I had an anxiety attack about this while driving around the damn tim hortons parking lot 😭 so I finally calmed down and now we’re on our way to pick up groceries. Having ADHD is so hard some days, hopefully my day gets better :) Just wanted anybody who’s struggling know that you’re not alone

... Read moreLiving with ADHD can lead to unique daily challenges that many may not fully understand. Individuals often experience moments of forgetfulness, such as misplacing keys or forgetting appointments, which can be incredibly frustrating. This article reflects on one such day, highlighting how quickly tasks can accumulate and become overwhelming. ADHD impacts not only focus and organization but also emotional regulation. Anxiety can arise over seemingly simple decisions, like whether or not to indulge in coffee, leading to second-guessing and stress. It's essential to approach these feelings with kindness towards oneself, as many struggle with similar thoughts and experiences. Community support through social media hashtags, like #ADHDinWomen and #Neurodivergent, fosters a sense of belonging among those dealing with ADHD. Sharing experiences creates a space for individuals to connect, learn, and support one another through shared struggles. Furthermore, understanding ADHD's nuances has become critical in ensuring those affected can lead fulfilling lives, emphasizing the importance of awareness and empathy in societal conversations. Remember, you're not alone in this journey. More people than you think are navigating their lives with ADHD, and by sharing our challenges and triumphs, we can help each other feel less isolated.
