Hide his mistake or be honest?

My husband made a risky investment without telling me, and we lost a chunk of our savings. What stings more is that he asked me not to tell anyone—especially his family, who are super involved in everything we do.

I get wanting privacy, but it feels wrong to cover for him. I believe in accountability in marriage, not hiding things. He says I’m “betraying” him for even considering telling the truth and that I’m making it a bigger deal than it is.

Now we’re fighting about trust vs honesty. Would you keep your partner’s mistake a secret, or do you think some things should be out in the open no matter what?

I think you need to start seeing the red flags for what they are. 🚩🚩🚩

well , the accountability is for you and your husband not his family.he nor you are obligated to speak on what goes on in your marriage to anyone outside of the two of you. respect your husband not keeping it in the house as he asked would be disrespectful , if he's asking you to keep it in your house hold that's what you should do. Telling rhe family is going to do what ? embarrasse him, set him up to be ridiculed and so on. if his family isn't going to offer relief then there's no need to involve them. The biggest question is why are they so involved are yall super young or disabled in some sort of way. Marriage is suppose to be sacred and should have very little outside influence unless needed. unless you're in trouble or feel your In harms way keep them lips tight.
