The House I Bought vs The Home I Created 🤍

When we bought this house, the kitchen felt dated and disconnected from the way I wanted our home to feel. I didn’t have a huge renovation budget — just a vision for something warmer, more intentional, and more “us.”

As a working mom, I wanted a space that felt cozy but practical. Somewhere I could cook dinner after work, host family, and still feel proud of the details.

Small changes made the biggest difference:

• Brass hardware

• Beadboard backing

• Open shelving for warmth

• A skirted sink for charm

• Soft lighting

• Vintage-inspired touches

It’s not perfect. It’s not brand new.

But it feels like home.

And that matters more.

Creating a home is less about having a perfect or brand-new space and more about reflecting your personality and how your family lives. Adding thoughtful, intentional elements made my kitchen the heart of our home, where memories are made and daily life feels special.
