Never making in person returns again I’m scared #backrooms
I recently had an unsettling experience that changed how I feel about in-person returns forever. While visiting a mall, I noticed something strange—it was June, but the mall was fully decorated for Christmas. This gave off an eerie vibe that I couldn’t shake. As I wandered deeper inside, the atmosphere felt increasingly surreal, almost like I had stepped into a place similar to the infamous #backrooms that people often talk about online. The backrooms are often described as endless, maze-like spaces with outdated, flickering lights and an overwhelming sense of unease. Although I wasn’t actually in a literal backroom, the mall’s uncanny decorations and the unnatural silence made me feel trapped in a similar nightmare scenario. This unsettling experience made the process of returning an item in person something I now dread. Many people don’t realize how environment and atmosphere can impact our emotional state during seemingly mundane tasks like returns. The feeling of being in a place that’s both familiar yet bizarre can cause real anxiety. After my experience, I started exploring alternatives like online returns or curbside pick-up whenever possible to avoid that unsettling in-person interaction. If you ever find yourself in a similar situation where your surroundings feel off or eerie, don’t hesitate to prioritize your comfort and safety. Sometimes, the fear is not just about the return policy or customer service but the environment where it takes place. Sharing this story, I hope others realize it’s perfectly okay to seek safer, less stressful alternatives for returns or any in-person errands.
