what it’s about: basically, i hated college for my first two years there. we were still coming out of covid, i had no friends, and i was in a miserable long-distance relationship. i missed my family and my friends back home and this is the film i made about that.
BTS: my professor did indeed ask me if i needed help after i turned this in 😭 in fact, 4/5 of my college film professors asked if i was okay after turning in a project, and at the time i was Not. but we’re chilling now 🙂↕️

what it’s about: it’s so strange to watch yourself grow up. to become someone that those former selves wouldn’t recognize.

what it’s about: aimlessly wandering the streets of a town you don’t belong in, you stumble across strangers and strange houses and unlit alleyways that beckon you.
BTS: my roommate and i filed a restraining order against my stalker and then went for a walk to relax after the whole ordeal. this is the result: a video i made for a weekly “journal” series we had to make for my intro to production class.

what it’s about: sometimes you gotta run from all your problems and hide in the woods. this was one of those times.
BTS: also made as a video journal for my intro to production class, i filmed this over the course of monthly daily walks through the nature preserve on my college campus. the deer were my friends :)

My first short film, 'I Guess,' captures the turmoil of my early college years post-COVID, where loneliness and relationship struggles played a significant role in my creative expression. In 'Life on Film,' I reflect on the nostalgic transformation of my identity over time, showcasing my evolution through the lens of old home videos. The experimental documentary 'A Rainy Night in Stevens Point' reveals a profound exploration of solitude and the unfamiliar, produced during a particularly difficult moment in my life. In my second experimental piece, 'Out Here, Everything is Peaceful,' I depict my escape from reality into nature and the solace it provided. Lastly, 'Light & Sound & Houses & Mr. Worldwide' takes a quirky approach, intertwining my perception of homes with their audial characteristics. Each project serves as a testament to my evolving skills and the challenges I faced, offering viewers not just cinematic experiences, but reflections of personal narratives that resonate on a universal level.
