FOODS FOR 6m+ BLW & Purees

... Read moreBaby-led weaning (BLW) is a popular method for introducing your baby to solid foods. As infants start reaching the six-month milestone, it's crucial to provide them with safe and nutritious options that are easy for them to gum and chew. Popular choices include mashed bananas, soft-cooked avocado, and yogurt-based blends. These foods not only fulfill their nutritional needs but also introduce them to a variety of textures and flavors. When choosing foods for BLW, consider items like well-cooked vegetables, mild-flavored proteins such as salmon or chicken, and naturally soft fruits. Purees can also be adapted with lumpy textures to encourage chewing and swallowing skills. Always ensure that foods are cut into appropriate sizes to avoid choking hazards. Engaging your baby during meals is essential; consider letting them explore food independently or encouraging self-feeding when they’re ready. Always supervise mealtime and share this journey with other parenting communities to learn new ways to support your baby’s development. Remember to consult with your pediatrician before starting any new food regimen to ensure it aligns with your baby’s growth and health needs.
