I almost bleed out giving birth?! 🩸
When i went in for my last OB appointment at 38 weeks pregnant my doctor said i would need to be induced asap that night…
i was horrified and had no idea what was going on and definitely was not prepared for what was about to happen!
I was told my platelet count had dropped significantly since they last tested and they were worried it would pass on to my baby and he would have bleeding complications too.
apparently because my platelets were so low they were worried about how much i would bleed too and if i would even be aloud to take the epidural?! (keep in mind i have the WORST pain tolerance…) HORRIFIC
When i was admitted into labor and delivery they put me in a high risk room with doctors checking in what felt like every 5 minutes 😭 The second i started having contractions i begged them to retest my blood so i could possibly get the epidural.
They came back and said i have gone up enough that i have one point over the limit for epidural THANK GODDD
After the epidural kicked in i was so much calmer and able to deal with my emotions better thankfully idk what i would’ve done without it because towards the end i was throwing up and passing out because of the pain (the epidural started to wear off!)
They told me i was ready for another round of the epi but babies head was visible… it was too late id have to deal with the pain. 😭
I screamed and cried and barfed and probably sh*t…💀but it was all so worth it.
The doctors said i only lost enough blood to barely need a blood transfusion so thankfully i did not have to do one.
All the stress and pain was a lot on me but it was so worth it to bring my little bundle of joy into the world 🥰
