It’s kind of crazy to think that I only started playing golf a couple years ago and somehow it’s become such a huge part of my life. ⛳️🤍
Somewhere along the way, it stopped being just a hobby and became my favourite way to get outside, spend hours with people I love, challenge myself, and completely switch my brain off.
And I’ve learned that golf will humble you VERY quickly 😂 There are rounds where I feel like I’m finally getting it… and then there are rounds where I genuinely question why I ever picked up a club.
But I think that’s what keeps me coming back.
I’m still very much learning, still figuring out my swing, still working on my confidence and still chasing that round where everything just clicks.
Here’s to another year of getting a little bit better, having way too much fun and hopefully losing a few less balls along the way 🏌🏼♀️
Starting golf as a complete beginner can be both thrilling and intimidating. From my experience, golf quickly becomes more than just a sport; it’s a rewarding way to connect deeply with nature and people around you. Playing consistently over the past two years has taught me that golf is a unique blend of mental focus, physical skill, and emotional resilience. One thing that really stands out is how golf humbles you. No matter how much you practice, some days your swing just won't cooperate, and you question your progress. Yet, these moments are what make the successes even sweeter. I vividly remember the round where everything seemed to click—the timing, the accuracy, and the confidence all aligning. It’s those rare days that keep me coming back, eager to improve despite the ups and downs. Beyond the technical side, golf has become a meaningful way to spend time with loved ones. Whether it's enjoying the quiet moments on a beautiful course or sharing laughs after a tough hole, the social aspect enriches the experience. Playing alongside my partner and meeting new people through this sport has brought me joy and a sense of community. For anyone thinking about starting golf, I say go for it! Use it as your sign to step outside your comfort zone. It’s a fantastic way to challenge yourself while also providing plenty of fun. Keep in mind that improvement takes time—focus on building your skills gradually and celebrating small victories. And don’t worry about losing a few balls along the way; it’s all part of the journey. Finally, as a woman embracing this traditionally male-dominated sport, I hope to inspire more women to join the golf community. It’s not just a game for the boys; it’s an inclusive space where anyone can thrive, learn, and enjoy. So grab your clubs and get out there—you might just discover your new favorite hobby.
