... Read moreI attended the Winter Japan Market at UBC Robson Square last year and found it to be an incredible cultural experience. Arriving early is definitely worth it – the first 50 guests receive $10 in Market Money, which felt like a great incentive to explore the diverse selection of Japanese products and foods offered. Even if you miss that, the next 50 guests get a bag of rice flour pancake mix, which is perfect for trying out traditional recipes at home. The market runs from 10 AM to 5 PM on both days, providing plenty of time to explore at a leisurely pace. The atmosphere is lively, thanks to the three daily performances that showcase traditional and contemporary Japanese culture. Whether you're interested in artisanal goods, snacks, or cultural entertainment, this event offers something for every Japan enthusiast. The location at UBC Robson Square is very convenient, situated right in the heart of Vancouver. It’s easy to reach by public transit or on foot if you’re nearby. I highly recommend saving the date and purchasing early bird tickets to secure your spot. It’s not just a market – it’s a small cultural festival that brings together the beauty of Japanese traditions and the vibrancy of community spirit in one spot. Definitely a fun outing for families, friends, or solo adventurers looking to experience something new this February.
