✨ New authentic Japanese restaurant✨
@enishi.jp.kitchen is a genuine Japanese restaurant run by a lovely Japanese couple.
My top recco is "Enishi hana-kago set" which is an assortment with beautiful small dishes. Other than this, they got everything from onigiri, affordable teishoku sets from $20, authentic Sukiyaki pot with raw egg (important! ), steamed unagi that could be enjoyed as "Hitsumabushi style", and even their own unique creation "sushi yaki".
Their desserts are a MUST, esp if you love matcha! It's created by the talented wife. They've warabi-mochi with insane stretch, parfaits have so many delicate layers, and the matcha bavarois which ended up to be our favorite!
👉️Super talented wife even sells handmade earrings for only $15, using traditional Japanese Yuzen Washi paper.

When searching for authentic Japanese cuisine in Richmond, Enishi Japanese Kitchen truly stands out as a gem. The moment you step inside, you can feel the passion and dedication the couple brings to their food, keeping it true to traditional flavors while offering unique twists like their "sushi yaki". One of my favorite experiences was trying the "Enishi hana-kago set," which beautifully showcases an assortment of small, artfully prepared dishes that allow you to sample a variety of flavors and textures. Beyond the main dishes, the desserts are exceptional. I highly recommend the matcha bavarois, which has become a personal favorite thanks to its smooth texture and rich flavor layered perfectly with delicate sweetness. Another highlight was the warabi mochi, delightfully chewy and stretchy, creating a fun texture contrast that's rare to find elsewhere. Aside from the delicious food, the atmosphere is enhanced by the talented wife’s handmade earrings crafted from traditional Yuzen Washi paper. These affordable, beautiful pieces add a charming cultural touch to the dining experience. If you appreciate Japanese culinary craftsmanship and authentic flavors, Enishi Japanese Kitchen offers more than just a meal—it’s an experience that honors Japanese culture. Whether you're a fan of sukiyaki served with raw egg, hitsumabushi-style steamed unagi, or just looking for a comforting teishoku set from $20, this restaurant covers all bases. Their comprehensive menu, complete with photographs, makes ordering easy and enjoyable. For anyone craving a genuine taste of Japan without leaving the Richmond area, Enishi Japanese Kitchen should be at the top of your list. The combination of traditional cooking, unique creations, and warm hospitality makes every visit memorable. Don’t miss out on bringing home a pair of those beautiful earrings as a souvenir of your experience!
