I need to speak with crochet management👀😂
I have a MAJOR beef with crochet 😤🧶
People out here saying “crochet is easy” while beginners are secretly trying to learn tension, yarn control, hook placement, counting stitches, finding loops, AND keeping their hands from doing weird stuff 👀😂
If crochet ever made you feel like your brain short-circuited... you're not broken 😏

Starting crochet might look simple on the surface, but anyone who's tried it knows it can feel incredibly overwhelming at first. When I began, I often felt like my brain was about to short-circuit too! One of the biggest hurdles for me was learning how to manage tension — getting it just right so the stitches aren't too tight or too loose. It helped me a lot to practice on small swatches rather than diving into big projects immediately. Another tricky part is controlling the yarn and the hook correctly. At times, my hands seemed to have a mind of their own, twisting the yarn or missing loops altogether. I learned that keeping my wrists relaxed and finding a comfortable grip made a huge difference. Counting stitches is also something that beginners struggle with; I found using stitch markers a lifesaver to avoid getting lost. If you're feeling frustrated, remember that these challenges are a normal part of learning crochet. Don’t let anyone tell you it’s easy without acknowledging these beginner struggles. Joining supportive communities, watching detailed tutorials on YouTube, or engaging with groups like Skool helped me immensely as I could ask questions and share experiences. Crochet is a skill that improves with patience and practice—your efforts will pay off and soon you’ll be creating beautiful projects with confidence!
