Is anyone else hit with the post-event blues, or just me? 🤍 I’ve been dreaming up this party since she was in my belly, and somehow my baby is already one. I’m so proud of the little person she’s becoming and so lucky I get to be her mom. I can’t wait to watch her do all the incredible things ahead… but today I’m feeling all the bittersweet emotions. #mom #girlmom #lunch #vlog
After celebrating such a milestone like a baby’s first birthday, it’s completely natural to experience what many call the "post-event blues." As a mom who has hosted several celebrations, I find these feelings a mix of joy and nostalgia. The buildup to the party is filled with excitement—selecting decorations, planning a favorite lunch with bagels, cheese, pepperoni, and even special treats like iced cinnamon sugar cookies with creamer. Every detail is thoughtfully chosen to create a memorable day. When the event wraps up, the quiet aftermath can feel overwhelming. Suddenly, the house might seem too still, and memories flood back of all the special moments shared. I always remind myself to cherish these bittersweet feelings because they are proof of the love and care poured into each celebration and the incredible journey of watching my little one grow. My daughter’s obsession with simple joys and her bright smile as her teeth come in remind me that every phase is precious and unique. To cope, I like documenting these feelings through vlogs or journals, revisiting photos, or even planning smaller family lunches afterward to extend the joy. This period is a chance to reflect on the past year and look forward to the amazing things ahead. Remember, it’s okay to miss the party, but there’s so much beauty in the growth and love that follows. Being a mom means embracing every emotion—both the happy and the bittersweet—with open arms.
