Brown Sugar Cinnamon Syrup

This brown sugar cinnamon syrup gives you that warm, spiced sweetness. Ideal for coffee, lattes, breakfast drinks, pancakes, and more.

Ingredients:

• 1 cup water

• 1 cup dark brown sugar

• 3 cinnamon sticks (or ground cinnamon)

• 1 tsp vanilla extract (optional)

Instructions (expanded):

1. Combine water, brown sugar, and cinnamon sticks in a saucepan.

2. Heat gently, stirring until sugar fully dissolves.

3. Let it simmer (low) for 2–3 more minutes to deepen flavor.

4. Remove from heat and let cinnamon steep for a few minutes.

5. Strain out the cinnamon sticks, stir in vanilla if using.

6. Cool before bottling.

Storage & Tips:

• Store in an airtight jar in the refrigerator. Should last ~1–2 weeks. 

• Use a ground cinnamon option if you don’t have sticks, but strain carefully to avoid grit.

• Simmering longer or steeping adds more spice depth, but don’t let it burn or boil hard (that causes crystallization). 

Good with: coffee drinks, iced lattes, pancakes, oatmeal, baked goods, even cocktails.
