Njio market hunt time : Sashimi feast vibes!
Nijo Market Sapporo Seafood Donbe
Best of the Best! Rating /⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Would I come again? Definitely YES!
Price:💰
For what you pay, you are getting the freshest sashimi you will ever find — a quality that Hokkaido does effortlessly and elsewhere simply cannot replicate. Check out the menu on the fourth page.
Waiting/ Queue:
Be prepared to wait, but trust me — it is absolutely worth it. Locals and tourists go here from the early hours of the morning, so you will need to leave your name and contact number to secure your spot in the queue. Good things come to those who wait!
Place:
Chill, and refreshingly clean. Do expect to wait for awhile if you come in the morning!
Personal Food Review:
Manzoku-don Premium (Yen 3,580) — Every bite bursts with the natural sweetness of Hokkaido's finest seafood. Beautifully presented just like the menu photo, this is the perfect introduction for first-time visitors. If you are first time traveller to Hokkaido like I was, start here — it gives you a variety to fall in love with.
Tsukimi Don D (Yen 4,180) — This one is an absolute showstopper. Four generous, overflowing portions of premium sashimi that melt in your mouth for more! The fatty tuna and salmon are so rich they simply melt. And the uni? Incomparable. Unlike the slightly fishy uni I had in Tokyo, Hokkaido's uni is strikingly clean and creamy. The fresh sashimi shrimp rounds it all off beautifully.
Oyster (Yen 1,280 for 2) — Each oyster was like a cold, perfect mouthful of the ocean — impeccably fresh, alive with brine, and gone far too soon.
Overall, this place is an absolute gem. I will without a doubt be back for more. Which dish will you choose? 🤔
