What I eat in a day 21 jours post-op ✨
Recovering from sleeve gastrectomy surgery requires patience and dedication, especially when it comes to learning how to nourish your body properly. At 21 days post-op, it’s common to experience ups and downs with food intake – some days feel easier and others more challenging, but every small bite counts toward healing and progress. Based on my personal experience, following a structured but flexible eating schedule helps stabilize my energy and aids digestion. My day typically starts with a protein shake around 8:00 am to support muscle maintenance and keep me fuller longer. Mid-morning and afternoon snacks are crucial for maintaining blood sugar and preventing hunger, often including soft, nutrient-dense foods that are easy to chew and digest. Dinner and the last snack in the evening complete my nutritional needs while respecting my stomach’s reduced capacity. Eating slowly and mindfully allows me to truly listen to my body’s signals, avoiding discomfort and promoting a positive relationship with food. Adjusting to this routine also means learning to manage portion sizes carefully and choosing foods that nourish without overwhelming the digestive system. Supplements such as protein shakes, soft fruits, and pureed vegetables have been lifesavers during this phase. It's important to remember that everyone's recovery and dietary tolerance differ after bariatric surgery, so patience and self-compassion are key. Sharing experiences like this helps create a supportive community where we can encourage each other through the sometimes unglamorous but very real journey of rebuilding our health and wellbeing one bite at a time.
