I'm pretty sure I was around 11 or 12 years old when I did these haha ✨

I have to say I used to be a lot more creative back then; I need to start doing more stylized pieces!!!

It's funny how looking back at your old sketchbooks can bring a mix of emotions – a little cringe, a lot of nostalgia, and sometimes a genuine giggle at your past self's imagination! When I decided to rate my old drawings, like that 'cute but weird cookie girl' or even my early 'Minecraft drawing', I realized how much my idea of 'good' art has changed. But it also made me appreciate the raw creativity of childhood. So, what exactly makes a drawing 'weird' or 'cute,' especially when you're 11 or 12? I think it's often about letting your imagination run wild without overthinking the technical aspects. My 'sad-looking penguin' might be simple, but it tells a story with just a few lines. And that person with the 'red headband'? Probably an attempt at a cool character design that didn't quite land, but it clearly shows effort and a developing personal style. Kids are fearless in their art, which often leads to those wonderfully 'weird but cute drawings' that adults might shy away from. For anyone wondering how to do 'easy weird drawings' or 'cute but weird drawings,' my biggest tip is just to *draw*. Don't censor your ideas. Children are masters at this – they'll draw anything from a talking animal to a fantastical creature, like my 'cookie girl.' That's where the 'weird but cute' magic truly happens! You don't need complex tools or advanced techniques; a pencil and paper are enough to bring those unique ideas to life. Sometimes the 'easy drawings' are the most charming because they capture pure, unadulterated creativity. I remember just wanting to get my thoughts onto paper, whether it was a quick doodle or something I spent more time on. The important thing was the joy of creating. Even the drawing of the person with brown hair and a blue-green top, which I rated 6/10, shows an early attempt at portraiture or character design. Each piece, no matter how 'cringey' it seems now, represents a step in my artistic journey and tells a story about what I was interested in at the time, like my love for Minecraft. Rating these old pieces wasn't just about finding the 'cringey' ones; it was a journey through my own artistic development. It made me want to get back to that uninhibited creative spirit. It also made me think about 'what is sketch rated' by others and how subjective art really is.
