Finals week can be incredibly stressful, especially when you’re enrolled in numerous classes all demanding your attention. From experience at Stony Brook University, I’ve learned that creating a structured study plan is essential. Breaking down your workload day-by-day and prioritizing the subjects that require more effort can prevent overwhelm. One thing I found helpful was forming study groups with friends who are also taking multiple classes. It’s a great way to share resources and keep each other accountable. Even when a friend is juggling six or seven classes, collaborating on tricky topics makes the load lighter and studying more interactive. Additionally, taking small breaks to recharge is crucial. I used to try powering through, but found that short walks, quick workouts, or even a few minutes of mindfulness helped me maintain focus longer. I also recommend avoiding all-nighters. They might seem like a quick fix, but they reduce your cognitive ability and make stress worse. Eating well and staying hydrated are often overlooked but vital to keeping your energy levels up. Overall, balancing multiple classes during finals requires a mix of planning, collaboration, and self-care. Remember, it’s okay to ask for help when the pressure builds up, whether from professors, friends, or campus resources. You’re not alone in this challenging but rewarding college experience.
